Written Pathetic Appeal

For my pathetic appeal, I wanted to write how the Arizona Immigration law labels illegal immigrants as criminals. But it dosn't take into consideration that many of these refugees are trying to flee from the drug-war violence in Mexico. In my appeal, I tried to employ enargeia and examples of real life individuals to bring the issue closer to the audience. I also used strong language, like refugees and survivors, to get the receiver to see Mexican immigrants in a different light. The types of emotions I am trying to provoke in the audience include shock, fear, anger, pity, and sadness. I hope after reading my appeal, individuals will be less likely to call any illegal immigrant a criminal.  After hearing about the gruesome violence in Mexico, I want the audience to feel pity and fear for the illegal immigrants and realize that sometimes coming into the U.S illegally is the only way these refugees can survive.
